Where

Region of Waterloo Library, Ayr Branch, 137 Stanley St. Ayr. Activities will be held outdoors on the library property. Access to the library will be maintained for washrooms as well as normal library operations.

Who

This Community Celebration Event is open to all geocachers as well as members of the community. Bring the kids too!

What

Join us for a scavenger hunt around town, show off your Dancing Man skills and win some prizes! Learn about the Region of Waterloo Library as well as all of the geocaches and Adventure Labs at RWL locations.

If you have completed the Region of Waterloo Library GeoTrail series of caches and have not yet turned in your completed passport, you may do so on-site, pick up your souvenir wooden token and get information for the bonus cache.

All activities are completely optional. A log book will be available but it is not necessary to sign in.

Weather

This is an outdoor event. In the event that poor weather conditions cause the cancellation of this event, an announcement will be made here. There is no "rain date" for this event.

COVID-19 Information

• Contact tracing will be conducted at this event by RWL staff in accordance with RWL policies and guidance from Region of Waterloo Public Health. Personal information collected in this manner will be used exclusively for this purpose and only by the appropriate authorities. Any inquiries regarding the collection of personal information for contact tracing should be directed to the Region of Waterloo Library.
• All attendees are strongly encouraged to wear a mask in the event area.
• RWL staff will be monitoring the total number of people present and may temporarily limit new arrivals if the event area capacity is exceeded.
• Hand sanitizer will be available at several locations on site.
• If you are feeling unwell on the day of the event, please stay home.

This event would not be possible without the continued support of the Region of Waterloo Library. RWL staff have been actively involved in the planning of this event and will be present during the event. RWL hosts a total of 11 physical geocaches, four Adventure Labs and four off-site AL bonus caches for geocachers to enjoy. Please consider expressing your appreciation to an RWL staff member at the event.

Local geocacher mmsm has also provided invaluable assistance in the planning and execution of this event. mmsm has hidden numerous geocaches in Ayr and the surrounding area including three Adventure Labs. Be sure to include some of them in your plans for the day!
