Geocache Description:


On a family adventure to Anawhata beach, I found the perfect place to hide a cache.

Anawhata road is unsealed from the Piha road turnoff.

Once at the parking area, go thru the locked gate, and walk down the road, and look out for the track that leads to the beach (if you miss it, you will arrive at Keddle House, a bach that can be hired from Auckland Council).

Cellphone coverage is limited out here and maybe non-existent.

Bring plenty of water, snacks (perhaps a picnic) and petrol in the car, as there are no shops/service station.

WARNING: It may not be safe to swim at this West Coast beach, and there are no life guards on duty.



Time to explore, find a few caves, do some rock hopping, have stream adventures, make sand art or sandcastles, and let your imagination take over!
