You are looking for a nano magnetic cache. This cache will have you standing on the old highway, before the new elevated road was constructed. A little history lesson below.
At the Southern end of the parish (Dixie Inn/Minden), Bayou Dorcheat was navigated by steamboats in the earlier years to transport cotton, timber, etc. all the way to the Red River prior to the construction of Lake Bistineau.
This landing is in honor of Louisiana state representative, Everett Gail Doerge. In 2011, Doerge Landing on Bayou Dorcheat, located east of Springhill on State Highway 157, was named in Doerge's honor. The landing was created after the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development completed a new bridge across the bayou, a part of the Scenic Rivers Program of the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.
