Wikipedia provides information about the interesting history of Wu Hanchi's life and tomb. Wu, 1872-1913, was a medical scientist from Taoshan, Guangdong, who participated in the revolution in 1911 and initiated impeachment proceedings against Yuan Shikai, the Qing soldier and first president of the Chinese republic who is known as the first warlord. Wu Hanchi was arrested in Tianjin on August 1 and killed on 19 August in 1913.
Wu Hanchi's tomb was protected from destruction during the Cultural Revolution when a staff member of the tumour hospital where it was located hid it. The tomb was rediscovered during the construction of a new building at the hospital in 2010. Since March 2012 the tomb has been located at this small park and plaza located in a corner of Xianlie Lu and Dongfeng Lu, near the Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center hospital (中山大学附属肿瘤医院).
