Geocache Description:

Methodist Church, Pewsey

This 'new' chapel was built in North Street and opened in 1873, after the one built off the High Street in 1834 was deemed too small. A schoolroom for the Sunday School was added in 1928. After the Methodist Union of 1932 the chapel became the Methodist Church and was restored in 1962. It still serves the community of Pewsey.

The Puzzle

Stage 1:

There is a creature artfully created out of pebbles at this location. Identify the creature to find out where to go next:

  • If it is a Lamb, then from the road junction with the church at your back, you need to look left and go to the location that grew from a Regal Acorn and look for a wooden notice board.
  • If it is a Dove, then you need to go to the Village Hall, and look for the nearest Telegraph pole.
  • If it is a Fish, then from the road junction with the church at your back, you need to look left and go to the hostelry that could be also be called a 'Man Cave' and look at the notices in the window.
  • If it is an Aardvark, then you need to go to location from where you can post letters and parcels, and look at their notice board.

Stage 2:

Once you have located stage 2: you should discover something familiar. You know what to do 😊 and this should give you all the information you need for stage 3.

Special tool required: device to access the internet in the field
