Extremes

Morris County is one of the most diverse counties in New Jersey. Contained in its 460 square miles you will find urban, suburban, and rural areas. You can experience lakes, rivers, ponds, swamps. farms, mountains, woods, fields, and anything in between. This series will show you some of these by highlighting the geographical extremes.

The eastern edge of the county is in Lincoln Park. The Pequonnock, Pompton, and Passaic Rivers provides the majority of the eastern border of the county. It would be pretty difficult to place a cache further east of here on public land. This area is infamous for the flooding that has caused major problems typically in the spring. Many properties, for example those directly to the south, has been purchased and turned into parkland. Ironically, that area is actually in Wayne in Passaic County even though it is disconnected from the rest of town by the Pompton River. There is also an island where 6 houses that have no connection to the shore about 1/4 mi south of GZ.
