Geocache Description:

25 January 2020, 10:00 - 10:30

Lancashire Cachers (with a Yorkshire and possibly Scottish guest or two) On Tour, are travelling from a bothy just to the north and will need some breakfast.

Why don't you join us?

We'll be meeting at

The Falls Coffee House Cafe and Gift Shop

You do not need to eat with us but please log your will attend and I'll ring to book a table a couple of days before.

As always there will be a logbook to sign, should you wish (this will one of the first in my new book since the old one is full,)

Today will be 133 events I have hosted and every one was a fun filled ride of excitement and mayhem, let's make this the same.

Oh the name of the event, I almost forgot.

Robert Burns

A Burns supper is a celebration of the life and poetry of the poet Robert (great name) Burns (25 January 1759 – 21 July 1796), author of poems. The suppers are normally held on or near the poet's birthday, 25 January, occasionally known as Robert Burns Day (or Robbie Burns Day or Rabbie Burns Day) but more commonly known as Burns Night (Scottish people call it Burns Nicht). Today's meeting is not at night so I'm calling it Burns's Breakfast.

Some of the traditions with a Burns meal.

A piper generally greets the guests, who gather and mix as at any informal party. Traditional Scottish music is played, don't expect that today.

The host says a few words welcoming everyone to the meal, this will happen.

Grace must be said before the meal, so I'll do that now

Some hae meat an canna eat,

And some wad eat that want it;

But we hae meat, and we can eat,

And sae the Lord be thankit.

Just to be clear there will be no Haggis

Hope that's all clear and ye still wanee cam.

See you there, I hope
