This cache is less than 30 meters off trail 3.01. Six months of the year it is 3.43 miles from the parking area, with an elevation gain of just over 1200'. The other six months, when the gates are open, it is a 5 minute walk. You have a great view of Black Mountain, O'Brien Creek and the surrounding area from here, you can also see how slowly this area is recovering from the devestating fires of 2003.
The cache itself is a camouflaged container roughly 10" long. It will be much easier to find while the gates are closed.
If you choose to look for this cache in October/November, wear bright orange, remember this area is open to hunting.
