大房岬は浦賀水道に突き出した長さ約2キロメートルの岬です。
砲台や探照灯、魚雷艇基地などが設置され、黒船来襲の時代から太平洋戦争まで、日本の防衛の砦として使用されました。現在も多くの遺構が残っています。
発電所跡にキャッシュを設置しました。
Cape Taibusa is a 2 kilometers long cape protruding into the Uraga Channel.
At the cape, batteries, searchlights, and torpedo boat base, etc. were built. They were used to protect Japan from the time of the arrival of the Black Ships(1853) to the time of the Pacific War. Many remains still exist.
I have set up a cache at a power plant.
大房岬は2019年9月の台風15号によって壊滅的な被害を受けましたが、公園スタッフやボランティアのみなさんの努力により、やっと園内に立ち入れるようになりました。ぜひ房総に遊びに来てください。
Cape Taibusa was catastrophically damaged by Typhoon No.15 in September 2019. Due to the great efforts of park staff and volunteers, you can enter the park finally. Please come and enjoy Boso!
