This cache is in honour of Great Grandad, Walter "Paddy" Sellars, who passed just shy of his 100th birthday. He was born in1919 in Newfoundland and served with the RCAF during WWII.
The hide is at the Brantwood Place gates, four stone pillars that make up this Old Ottawa East icon. These gates now mark the memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice during WWI and WWII. Annually, the Royal Canadian Legion (Strathcona Branch 595) hosts a Remembrance Day ceremony on a Sunday morning in early November here.
