Geocache Description:

The name of this cache reflects the cry often heard after new housing developments have been built, particularly those that were very unpopular with existing residents when the original plans were put forward. But of course most of us live in dwellings that were built on land that was once fields.....we just don't like change we feel we have no control over!

Anyway, here in the southern part of Crowmarsh parish is a development of 91 dwellings plus new offices for CABI (an international, not-for-profit inter-governmental organisation that improves people’s lives worldwide by providing information and applying scientific expertise to solve problems in agriculture and the environment) which was hotly contested by locals but is now progressing toward completion.

The cache doesn't involve going into the development itself, but rather it takes advantage of the new "Watermead Nature Reserve" that has been created on adjacent land.

The cache is designed to be fun for younger members of the caching community as there is lots of space to run around and the cache container is big enough to hold some goodies! The reserve is on two levels - the lower one is a bit marshy, especially in winter, so wellies are a good idea!

To find the cache you will need to gather information from the board at the start (there is a duplicate at N51 35.439 W001 07.217) and visit two locations within the nature reserve.

The cache is at N51 35.ABC  W001 07.DEF where:-

A = Number of horizontal bars, minus 1, on any of the wooden pedestrian gates around the site

B = Number of risers on the steps, minus the number of planks on the bridge

C = Number of planks on the bridge

D = Number of different types of "Box" that have been put up for wildlife (why not see how many you can spot as you go around!)

E = Number of different types of path across the site

F = Number of "windows" in the side of the pillbox that faces approx. west (looking towards the river)

The cache is at ground level
