Nella provincia di Messina, non lontano dalla turistica Taormina, Savoca domina da circa 330 metri sul livello del mare le acque del Mar Ionio, affrontando così la Calabria, la punta dello stivale del sud Italia di cui possiamo vedere coste a pochi chilometri di distanza.
Per la sua posizione in cima a un massiccio roccioso, per i suoi vicoli in pendenza, per i suoi numerosi ulivi, aranci e mandorli, per il suo patrimonio architettonico, religioso e militare, Savoca è stata inserita dal 2008 nell'elenco dei borghi più belli d'Italia .
Fondato in epoca romana, il villaggio di Savoca ha, come il resto della Sicilia, sperimentato varie influenze successive: bizantini, arabi e normanni si succedettero l'un l'altro, portando ciascuno il proprio stile architettonico e stile di vita.
Delle diciassette chiese nel centro di questo villaggio (di meno di 2.000 abitanti oggi), molte sono ancora esistenti. Durante le tue passeggiate nelle strade strette, ben pavimentate e sempre su un pendio, le incontrerai alla svolta di ogni strada senza nemmeno cercarle.

In the province of Messina, not far from the touristy Taormina, Savoca dominates from some 330 meters above sea level the waters of the Ionian Sea, thus facing Calabria, the tip of the boot of southern Italy whose we can see coasts a few kilometers away.
For its location at the top of a rocky massif, for its sloping alleys, for its numerous olive, orange and almond trees, for its architectural, religious and military heritage, Savoca has been listed since 2008 on the list of the most beautiful villages in Italy .
Founded in Roman times, the village of Savoca has, like the rest of Sicily, known various successive influences: Byzantines, Arabs and Normans succeeded each other, each bringing its own architectural style and way of life.
Of the seventeen churches in the center of this village (of less than 2,000 inhabitants today), many are still in existence. During your walks in the narrow streets, nicely paved and always on a slope, you will come across them at the turn of each street without even having to look for them.

Dans la province de Messine, non loin de la trop touristique Taormina, Savoca domine de quelques 330 mètres d’altitude les eaux de la mer Ionienne, faisant ainsi face à la Calabre, pointe de la botte de l’Italie méridionale dont on aperçoit les côtes à quelques kilomètres de distance.
Pour sa situation au sommet d’un massif rocheux, pour ses ruelles en pente, pour ses nombreux oliviers, orangers et amandiers, pour son patrimoine architectural, religieux et militaire, Savoca est inscrit depuis 2008 sur la liste des plus beaux villages d’Italie.
Fondé à l’époque romaine, le village de Savoca a, comme le reste de la Sicile, connu diverses influences successives : Byzantins, Arabes et Normands s’y sont succéde, chacun apportant à son tour son style architectural et son mode de vie.
Des dix-sept églises que compta le centre de ce village (de moins de 2 000 habitants aujourd’hui), un grand nombre sont encore existantes. Au fil de vos promenades dans les ruelles étroites, joliment pavées et toujours en pente, vous les croiserez au détour de chaque rue sans même avoir à les chercher.
