Welcome to the fourth Geocache in my Red Dwarf series of caches. This cache is also based on the character “Cat” or “The Cat”.
Red Dwarf is a British sci-fi comedy show about the last human being, Dave Lister, that is stuck on a 5 mile long Jupiter Mining Corporation spaceship, Red Dwarf, as he tries to find his way back to Earth. Lister was locked into stasis because he tried to smuggle a cat on the ship. While he was locked in stasis, a radiation leak killed the entire crew and the Red Dwarf headed to the far reaches of space to keep the radiation contamination from spreading. Three million years later, Lister was released from stasis. With Lister on this mining spaceship is a being named “Cat” that evolved from his cat, a Series 4000 mechanoid named Kryten and a hologram of Lister’s bunkmate named Arnold Rimmer.
After smuggling a cat (named Frankenstein) onto the mining ship “Red Dwarf”, Lister was sent into stasis (suspended animation) for the duration of the trip back home to Earth because he didn’t want to give up the location where he hid Frankenstein. Arnold Rimmer fails to seal a drive plate that causes a radiation leak that wipes out everyone on the Red Dwarf. Lister’s cat Frankenstein, pregnant with kittens, survives the leak (along with Lister since he was protected in stasis) since she was safely hidden in a cargo hold, away from the radiation.
Frankenstein had her kittens. Then those cats grew and had kittens. Then those cats had kittens. Then those cats had kittens… Repeat this process for three million years and the race of cats had evolved into Felis sapiens with the help of the leaked radiation. The Felis Sapiens eventually had an internal conflict and left the Red Dwarf in search of their promised land. “The Cat” and a group of other unhealthy cats were left behind. As time went on, Cat ended up being the last “cat” on the mining vessel with a “cat priest” but the cat priest dies in a later episode.
The Cat joins Lister and Rimmer after Lister is released from stasis and Rimmer is brought back as a hologram. Since Cat has evolved from millions of years of cat evolution, he retains the feline sense of being self centered, maintaining his cleanliness, claiming all things he finds as his, having some slick moves and maintaining an awesome wardrobe. He also, really, just doesn’t give a dang about anyone else because… that’s the way cats are.
Cat eventually becomes an important part of the crew as they try to find their way back to Earth. Besides, someone has to look good. And it might as well be The Cat! Please go to this site to read up on The Cat:

G= By Series “G”, Cat becomes less obsessed with mating, and begins to develop a friendship with Dave Lister — possibly due to their mutual contempt for Rimmer.

E= His species expanded and evolved into a humanoid form over “E” million years while sealed in the cargo hold of Red Dwarf while Dave Lister was in suspended animation.

In an episode of "Red Dwarf", The Cat was seen playing golf by throwing his golf club so it seems he has a general idea of how the sport is played. A simple and dumb idea, mind you because he's a cat. Maybe he was at GZ and decided to actually use a real golf ball to play with this time...
