Geocache Description:

29 August 2021, 14:00 - 16:00

Location: Bald Head Peninsula, Main Beach
Date: Sunday August 29th, 2021
Time: 2:00pm - 4:00pm

Note: this event is weather dependant. Rain date: Saturday, September 4th, 2021

This event is completely outdoors and is on Crown Land. There may be muggles enjoying the beach at the same time as us. By attending this event, you are fully aware that this area is accessible to the public.

This event page will be updated no later than 2:00pm on Sunday, Augustst 1st if this event needs to be delayed due to inclement weather.

This event is being held on a 1.2km (approx) long sand beach, on the Bald Head Peninsula which separates Weller's Bay from Lake Ontario.

This area is an ISLAND, which means you will need to do one of the following to get there:

1. launch a kayak, canoe, paddle board, or motorized vessel from one of the 15 or so paid or free launches on Wellers Bay. One of the free launches has been waypointed. There are several paid launches along Carter Road and Barcovan Beach Road with off-street parking.

2. Take the "Beach Taxi" at your expense, to the landing point on the east side of the island and then walk to the north side. The "beach taxi" is available from Barcovan Beach Road.

3. Swim across the channel to the island, from Barcovan Beach Road or Carter Road. This could be dangerous as this is a busy boating channel and is not recommended.

4. Contact me if you are interested in going but do not have any other means of getting there, as we may be able to arrange something

This will be a casual event - I will be located at the posted coordinates with a lawn chair, and will have a small table for gifts/trackable drops.

I will have a few prizes, and a logbook for attendees to sign. If you wish to trade tokens or signature items, this can be done as well.

Please note: both participating in the prize draws and signing the logbook are optional activities. If you choose not to participate, you may still log the event as attended (provided you do actually attend)

Schedule of events:

2:00pm to 3:50pm - casual drop in, mingle, geo-chat
3:50pm - gather at posted coordinates for prize draws and group photo
4:00pm - event done
