ADVANCED WARNING (20 May 2025):
Commencing in April 2026, we will start to archive many of our caches as the maintenance load is becoming a major concern as our capacity to make regular visits to our caches declines. The date has been chosen so that, apart from unforeseen circumstances, all of our caches will be available to those visiting Tasmania for the Tassie Event in early March 2026. We are giving advanced notice so that all have the opportunity to look for any of our caches that they haven't found before they are archived. This is one of the caches we plan to archive.
"Starting Puzzle Solving" is a structured program designed to introduce inexperienced cachers to solving mystery or puzzle caches. Over seven sessions, those who were available met and completed one session and then followed that up by attempting two puzzles which used the ideas from that session. The full rationale for creating the “Starting Puzzle Solving” series can be found in the preamble to
- GC8JDKY Starting Puzzle Solving 01A
- GC8JDM0 Starting Puzzle Solving 01B
After the first seven session there is a break in the program. Eight Extra puzzle caches have been published for the break to give the less experienced cachers opportunities to consolidate their learning. Each of the Extra puzzles uses ideas or a combination of the ideas presented in the first seven sessions.
Experienced cachers should continue to find these puzzles quite straightforward and are most welcome to solve them and find the caches – they are not restricted to those participating in the program.
