Geocache Description:

The Cache

To our knowledge, there are no other monkeys living on the Common!

This cache is situated a short detour from the London LOOP section that extends between High Barnet and Cockfosters underground stations. If not following the London LOOP, there are many other footpaths around the Common to explore (and several other caches to find!) The footpaths in the area can get extremely muddy after rain; appropriate footwear recommended.

The cache contains a few swaps, and a medal for the FTF.

Please only log a find online if you have signed the log. If you cannot find the cache, please either log a DNF or message us to let us know there is a problem. Please do not replace the container if you believe it to be missing.

The Common

Monken Hadley Common once formed part of the Royal Forest of Enfield Chase. Currently there are five entrances to the area by road, all marked by distinctive white gates.

Parking and Access

There are several ways to access the area for this cache. If attempting several caches in the area, we would recommend using the ample parking space at the bottom of Bakers Hill (N 51° 39.490 W 000° 10.670). Parking on Games Road may also be possible. Otherwise, this cache is accessible by walking from Cockfosters underground station, or as a detour from Trent Country Park.
