Geocache Description:

The cache is a lock-n-lock container about 65 paces off the Meadow trail and covered with natural camo. I recommend you only attempt this cache from Above, not below. The best approach is still from the West, via the open meadow adjacent to the Meadow Trail.

The cache is placed at the lower edge of a copse of native trees, just above an area that had an entire grove of eucalyptus trees removed in 2019. I'm all for the habitat restoration, since Eucalyptus trees are messy, invasive and non-native (i.e. California's largest weed). But the removal has certainly left a large swath of devastation behind (albeit one with a view). I'm hoping this barren hillside will sprout new growth soon. I decided to place the cache here with an idea: Perhaps future cachers will snap pics of the view, and thus record the change in the hillside flora over time.

Please snap a photo of the view below during your visit, and add it to your log entry. It will be interesting to see what nature decides to do over the years.

Congrats to rragan for FTF!
