Geocache Description:

18 April 2020, 10:00 - 12:00

Geocaching CITO in conjunction with RSPB Scotland.

WHERE: Duthie Park Bowling Pavillion

WHEN: 10am - 12 midday

RSPB Scotland are hosting a series of events to clean up the area around Aberdeen and the shire with a view to preventing rubbish from getting to our North sea.

"We will be hosting clean up events across Aberdeen City and shire with the support of organisations who will be leading the cleans ups. Locations currently being planned for a clean up are; Aberdeen city centre, Aberdeen beach, Torry Battery, Seaton Park, Donmouth, Balmedie beach and Stonehaven (seas, coves and caves). The cleans up will take place in the morning (with some possibly in the afternoon depending on tide times) and we hope to collect up all the litter from the clean ups to display at our sustainability outreach event which will take place in the afternoon in the city centre. This part of the day will have a range of speakers sharing what they do to protect the marine environment and top tips on being more sustainable, along with a few stalls with advice on sustainability."

The Geocachers of Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and anyone else who can attend are invited to do their bit for the area and collect rubbish from the area close to Duthie Park.  Kerry has placed a cache there which highlights the necessity of cleaning this area and has thankfully drawn our attention to the corner that collects so much rubbish.

This event is open to non geocachers and you can bring a friend, or as many as you like!

A thorough risk assessment has been completed for the area and there will be some health and safety rules to follow, a briefing will be provided on this at arrival.

Litter Pickers will be available for use but please do feel free to bring your own.  Bin bags are provided as are gloves but again please do feel free to bring your own gloves should you prefer.  Options for cachers with reduced mobility are as always available, please draw my attention to any requirements that you may have.

I would like a photograph at the end of the collection, should you wish not to be in it you can take it, or stand behind the person who takes it :)

If you have any questions about this or any of the CITO events that I hold please do not hesitate to contact me either through the messaging system or by email.
