A new cache from my Canine Cache Capers themed series that might challenge you a little.
This is a quiet and unassuming little park on the banks of the Ohau River. It is popular with locals for the relatively easy access to the river for kids to play in the water holes and for dogs to get to have a swim. I certainly used to love coming here with my own dogs when they were alive.
Access to the cache is best achieved by starting at the suggested parking co-ords and making your way towards the swimming holes. From there, work your way towards the cache following the most obvious pathways.
There is no hiding the fact that this is a tree climb cache. As per the guidelines regarding Difficulty and Terrain 6.13. Ratings for difficulty and terrain (D/T) the Difficulty rating reflects the fact that it is a Micro (bison tube) up a tree and the Terrain rating reflects the physical effort to get to the co-ordinates.
Please take care when climbing, and don't go too far out of your comfort zone. It's only a cache, not worth injuring yourself over. Just a suggestion but it might be more ideal to bring along your own younger tree climbing TOTT for the retrieval, and don't wear nice clothes for this cache. Oh, and make sure that you're not barking up the wrong tree!
