June 3, 2000 - Beaver Cache placed in Georgia (still active)
Sept 2, 2000 - Geocaching.com web site launched with 75 caches listed
July 2001 - Georgia Geocaching Association formed (oldest active geocaching group)
Dec 26, 2006 - First 7 digit geocache id assigned
Mar 8, 2010 - 1,000,000th active geocache listed
Feb 28, 2013- 2,000,000th active geocache listed
Apr 17, 2017 - 3,000,000th active geocache listed
Feb 29, 2020 - Most finds in a day 606,220
