The 17th +1 Annual Kearney Picnic & Community Celebration Event

The picnic event will run from approximately 11:30 A.M. - 1:30 P.M. on Saturday, September 11th, 2021, and take place at the Fort Kearny State Recreation Area near Kearney, NE (in the shelter near campsite 69).

Nebraskache will be grilling hamburgers and hot dogs. Please bring a side dish or dessert to share with the others in attendance. Nebraskache will provide flatware, plates, buns and condiments. Bring chairs to sit on as the food will be set out on the tables in the pavilion. If you want to eat at a table you should bring your own table as picnic tables are limited.

After eating, there will be the presentations of the milestone awards (Click here to go to the Nebraskache Milestone Reporting Form) have raffle items, door prizes. There will be another round of a fun caching game, as well as other activities!

There will be time to geocache in the afternoon and explore the area (Adventure Lab caches in the area too!) and reconvene at 7:00 pm for an after the picnic event campfire (bring your comfy chairs and beverages). Always a good tale around campfires. Did I hear campfire s'mores??

Whether you are a newbie or a caching veteran, we invite you for a day of fun and quite possibly some geocaching!
