Geocache Description:

31 December 2021, 16:00 - 18:00

Last Event of the Year 2021 (2020 Part IV “redux”)

WHAT: Attend your last event of 2021

WHY: Earn a Community Celebration Event type, earn a souvenir (Farewell 2021),  snacks, fellowship, fun, fire pit, friends.

WHEN: Friday, December 31, 2021, between 4pm & 6pm.

WHERE: Mechanicsburg Parks & Recreation Picnic Pavilion. 1731 S York St, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055

WHO: Anyone that wants to celebrate the end of 2021 and also celebrate 20 years of Geocaching. (A year late)

I know you were disappointed that this event was canceled last year, but here we are a year later, ready to pick up where we left off. Let's do this...!
The pavilion is reserved for our event, even though it's a holiday. Receipt Number:  3011822.002. Date/Time Issued October 6, 2021 1:45 PM.

Yes, It's outside. It'll be dark and cold.... but we've done this before, and we can do it again. If masks are still required, or you choose to wear one anyway... on the plus side, it'll keep your face warmer and we won't be able to see your teeth chattering. Vertumnis & MrsV will be bringing a camp stove and we will expect to have hot drinks like hot cider, cocoa, coffee, and some snacks... but we will just have to wait and see if that is allowed or how the tides have churned closer to the event date.

Sign your "Will Attends" and you'll get updated as notifications are posted. Feel free to bring your campfire forks to cook up your favorite vittles and gooey deserts, and enjoy the evening as we say goodbye to 2021. Alcoholic beverages are NOT ALLOWED.

I suspect we will have some door prizes and gifts as well.

So come on out and meet some local and not so local geocachers. We want to hear some of your stories relating back through this past 2 eventful years.  How has geocaching impacted your life during the time you have been involved? Have you met friends you wouldn't have otherwise?  If you have attended before and have a caching friend that might appreciate an evening out in the fresh air, on a winter night, by all means you should invite them.

The event will last 2 hours +,  but you are not obligated to stay the full 2 hours. In reality... we will likely be there even more than 2 hours, because it is just so much fun to stand around the fire and discuss Geocaching...!

BTW... Reviewers are always invited as well. Everyone should be having fun on this holiday. We appreciate what they do and always enjoy meeting up with the folks that make all this happen with order & fairness.

I'll have some TBs from Florida to drop in the event, to be discovered and moved. Please bring some TBs for others to discover or take on their travels as well.

Stay safe, happy caching, and we'll see you New Years Eve...!
