Across the street is the former field of the the Kannapolis Intimidators now known as the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers. The Kannapolis Cannon Ballers are a Minor League Baseball team of the South Atlantic League and the Class A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. Beginning in 2020, will play their home games at the new Atrium Health Ballpark located in downtown Kannapolis.The team was established in 1995 as the Piedmont Phillies. From 1996 to 2000, they were known as the Piedmont Boll Weevils. From 2001 to 2019, they were known as the Kannapolis Intimidators, after NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt, who was known as the "The Intimidator", purchased a share of the team before the 2001 season. The name change occured becasue the team doesn’t own “and therefore cannot confidently build around the Intimidator name”. Most saw this as a bad move including Dale Earnhardt Jr. who tweeted:

“I remember how proud dad was of this,” Dale Jr. tweeted about the team adopting the name to honor his father, a Kannapolis native and NASCAR legend known as “The Intimidator.” “What a shame it has to end.”
About the cache:
The first gadget cache in the area that I am aware of. A very simple concept taken from WV Tim on his YouTube channel. This will be faiirly easy to find, and fairly easy to Pull off for most. If people enjoy this I will be building more for the area! Plenty of room for swag and TB's.
