Welcome to the University of South Alabama Mountain Bike Trail. To collect all the caches in this area you looking at several hours and many miles of walking so come prepared. While pedestrians are welcome, this is a mountain bike trail and bikes have the right-of-way so pay attention and clear the trail when they come through. Parking is readily available at the posted trailhead. On your walk you may encounter any or all of snakes, turtles, and birds so pay attention to your surroundings and give nature the respect it deserves. Coordinates were roughly averaged on my phone under sometimes heavy tree cover – if the coordinate seem off, please post how far and which direction from the cache they brought you; if I notice a trend that points to more than just poor GPS signals I will make coordinate corrections accordingly. The campus police had no problems with the placement of caches as long as the game doesn’t result in any damage. The trails are open during daylight hours only – no night caching. I’m not too concerned about damage along a bike trail in the woods but please respect the university’s property and the hours of availability and don’t ruin things for future cachers. This is an easy one as you either complete or begin your loop down through the southern side of the bike trail and is on one of the more open and sunny sections of the trail. You are looking for a camo pill bottle almost within reach of the trail.
The bike trails are a confusing mess of twists, turns, and loop-backs. At the time of placement, trail maps haven’t caught up with recent university construction but are still 95% accurate.
