This cache is a tribute to all the teachers who used unbelievable creativity to teach their students remotely during the COVID-19 outbreak.
With schools closed, many teachers (and other school staff) took to YouTube and created daily videos for their students to keep them engaged and learning from the comfort of their own home. Many interacted with their students via email, chat messaging, and even video conferencing.
This particular cache was created as a "daily challenge" for one of Onalaska Middle School's social studies teachers; in 6th grade, students are introduced to the concept of latitude and longitude; some students go geocaching in a nearby park, and at the end of the school year, the entire 6th grade takes a full-day field trip to Perrot State Park, where several students spend a few hours geocaching. (Of course, the 2020 trip was cancelled due to schools being closed during the COVID-19 pandemic.)
If you know a teacher, thank them for the amazing work that they do!
