Geocache Description:

Half Hankerchief Lane connects St Ibbs with Thistley and has very little traffic apart from farm vehicles. You should be able to park close to the GZ although this is an ideal 'quiet walk' at any time of the year except when blowing a gale and snowing which it was when the cache was placed. If you stand at the GZ and look across the field in front of you, you will see Sam's Pond, a perennial, spring-fed water that has (or had) some good fishing. It is fenced off, so probably still is used by local anglers. Twenty years ago my son and his friends used to go there regularly, paying a fee at Thistley Farm on the way in. There was said to be some big carp in the pond, but no-one ever caught any, although of course they hooked them only for them to escape. The cache is a small pot which would take the occasional trackable coin - it currently has a low denomination foreign coin for the FTF. It is likely to get a bit overgrown in summer so take care.
