The Comet Trail [cubed]
**A pen (and likely tweezers) will be needed to log this cache
A few years ago, Greentown put in a very nice walking/jogging trail that weaves its way through the town - the Comet Trail. This trail is used by countless town residents and is a great place to stay active throughout the year. From end to end, the trail spans about 1.8 miles and has several benches to rest along the way. One of the local Boy Scout troops completed an Eagle Scout project where 10 trees were identified with a short description along the trail along with a second Eagle Scout project that was more recently completed to include Comet Trail trailhead signage.
I find myself using this trail almost every day through the warmer months, and also want to bring others to this trail so they may also enjoy. N9RPH was able to create a series of Comet Trail geocaches, but they have since been retired. These new caches serve to (more or less) replace those that N9RPH was able to place around the trail.
This cache is a small, micro-sized cache that has been hidden in the middle of the East side of the trail. I would not be surprised if you found this cache to be relatively difficult. The cache is located off the trail on the Northern side and is well camoflaged to blend with the surroundings. One would not have to venture off into the woods and bushwhacking should not be required. I have labeled it as a "4" difficulty, but I will certainly adjust after feedback from other cachers. Please park in school parking lots and approach the cache from the trail. . . and enjoy a walk on the trail as time permits. Best of luck caching and please place the cache back exactly how you found it!
Happy caching! CITO. BYOP!
