Geocache Description:

This cache is one of several located along the roads that wend through the Lollie Bottoms area. Three of the 78 historical schools that once existed in Faulkner County were located along this stretch of road.

The Lollie School (historical) was once also located near this site. In 1909 there were 5,110 school districts in Arkansas with 78 of those being in Faulkner County. Lollie School was one of those. Today there are only 238 school districts in the state with 6 of them being in county. There is a reference point that shows the actual location of the school that was once nearby. That location is now on private land.

Information about the Lollie Bottoms area can be found here: https://faulknerhistory.org/2017/07/lollie-plantation-looking-back/

You are looking for a small snap-top container hidden in the traditional manner and should be a PNG. Parking is somewhat limited, so please be careful since there is often quite a bit of traffic by here, and danger exists.

Let me know if the cache needs attention.

Notes:

1.GNIS details for the Lollie School (historical) can be viewed here: https://on.doi.gov/3bIO4vV. The term "historical" as used in the GNIS means specifically and only that the feature no longer exists on the landscape. It has no reference to age, size, condition, extent of habitation, type of use, or any other factor.
2. Many thanks to Jimmy Bryant, Director of Archives at the University of Central Arkansas, for providing information on schools of that era.
