This 50 cal ammo can is located atop the 1,761 meter summit of Sibbald Meadows Hill. Thanks to a large cutblock the views to the northeast are nice, and if you ascend from the south there are some nice views along the way too. Expect an entirely off-trail round-trip hike of 3 kilometers with an elevation gain of about 300 meters if you take a somewhat direct route from the highway.
Sibbald Meadow Hill Summit Views:
Sibbald Meadows Hill lies straight north of Sibbald Meadows Pond. Instead of starting from the pond, I found a pretty good route by starting at an old forestry road about 300 meters east of the turnoff to the pond. The snowshoeing through the old cutblock was great, and I followed it north and then northwest until the cutblock ended. From there, the bushwhacking to the north was very pleasant through open forest with hardly any deadfall to deal with. The only challenge was a steep open slope near the top, but overall it was pretty straight-forward.
Once atop the summit, enjoy the views and the goodies in the cache!
