Since the park's opening in the 1950s, winter fun at Lower Huron has included skating and hockey on the park's two outdoor rinks. Ice skating is available in the Foxwoods area from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. and is lighted at night. On weekends, you will often find a warming bonfire too! Heated restrooms are located at Fox Woods and Tulip Tree Picnic Areas. A first aid station is located at the Park Office.

Please note: In the 15 years I have been geocaching, my GPS units have always acted "wonky" in this area. I don't know if there is something in the hills that affects it, or if it is the spirits of the Cos-scut-e-nong-sebee being mischievous. Whatever the reason, please be prepared to be 5' away one moment, and then 50' away the next. I averaged the coords, but you may still find them to be "off".
