Mom41 got an awesome plastic ammo can for Christmas (from me - haha) and we have been looking for the perfect place to hide it! We found this park while exploring the area and retrieving the LePew's Caches "Tradgey at Oakdale" and "Civil War - Medal of Honor". This is a newer park in South Fayette Township. It was once property that housed a Boy's Home started in the 1900's through 1980. I found a little history on the facility in the PA state archives:
The Boys' Industrial Home in Oakdale, Allegheny County, Pa. was organized June 18, 1900 and incorporated January 29, 1901. According to the charter, its purpose was "to take charge of homeless and neglected boys, give or find for them a suitable home, and secure for them a common school and an industrial education." The Home, a private juvenile facility, admitted white boys from 8 to 16 years of age who were physically and mentally fit and whose needs could not be properly met in their own community. In 1980, the Boys' Industrial Home merged with the Wesley Institute, Oakdale Center, Pittsburgh, Pa.
The posted Coordinates will bring to to an informational sign in Preservation Park. There is plenty of parking here as well. Once at the sign, answer these questions to obtain the final coordinates for the ammo can hidden within the park.
