This cache is placed to represent the start of Tottenham Hotspur football club in 1882 and was originally published on Saturday 5th September 2020, exactly 138 years after the club was founded.
A little bit of history about Tottenham Hotspur:
Spurs, as they are affectionately known, became the first and to date, only non-league side to win the FA Cup in 1901. In 1951, they won the English First Division league title for the first time, just 12 months after coming up from the Second Division as champions. And 10 years later, Tottenham became the first team in the modern era to complete the league and FA Cup double.
Tottenham were also the first British team to win a major European trophy with European Cup Winners' Cup glory in 1963 and collected further FA Cups in 1962, 1967, 1981 and 1991. They also won the League Cup in 1971, 1973, 1999 and 2008 and lifted the UEFA Cup in 1972. Tottenham were also runners-up in the 2018-19 UEFA Champions League. The club has a long-standing rivalry with nearby north London club, Arsenal.
More recently, Tottenham moved into a new stadium on White Hart Lane which is the second largest ground in the league.[When the cache was published].
