Geocache Description:

This easy field puzzle will take you on a walk through the beautiful property of the Wenonah Cemetery Association. Park or start at the posted coordinates and follow the clues up the hill and around the loop to find the cache.

Please be respectful of the property, everything except for the actual cache can be found without leaving the paths.

First Stop: Back track a few feet from the parking coords and take a left up the main path. You are looking for the grave and statue of Geo B. Batten, which will be on your right shortly.

  • Subtract 1 from the second number of his birth year to get both A and B

Second Stop: Continue up the hill to a pavilion on the left, where you will find the marker for James A. George.

  • Multiply the last number of his birth year by 2 to get C
  • Divide the third number of his death year by 2 to get D

Third Stop: Take a right and begin your loop. Around halfway (or so) before wrapping around to the left you will find the grave of WWI veteran Lawrence M. Kropilak on your right.

  • Subtract the last number of his death year from the third number of his birth year to get E
  • The second number of his birth year will give you F

Fourth Stop: Stop at the big crypt on your right after the pathway turns left. Here, you will find the grave of WWII veteran John L. Patterson Jr..

  • Subtract 7 from his birth month to get G
  • Take the last number of his death year for H

Fifth Stop: As you start working your way to the end of the loop, before turning sharp left at the fence, you will see the large grave of Lt. Ernest W. Fanslau on your left.

  • The third number of his birth year will give you I
  • Finally, subtract 49 from his squadron to get J

The coordinates should take you to the GZ, a tree between the graves of Buckman and Scott
