About this Cache.

Be sure to bring bug spray.

At the North Parking area (be sure to pull all the way off the pavement), there is a small pull off (large enough to safely handle about three cars) where you will see a State Game Lands sign. Just past that sign is the trail head - see picture. This trail is not used much any more and when vegetation is high, you may not be able to see the trail. This trail can be muddy. If you follow it away from the road about 100 feet, the trail will make a bend to the left to run parallel to the creek - see additional waypoint. The trail becomes a bit easier to follow after it enters the wooded area. The trail is narrow, so keep a close watch on your young ones. Follow this trail about two tenths of a mile until it bends to the right (see additional waypoint). Stop following the trail and continue straight and cross two tiny creeks (there are plenty of stones to make it across without getting wet) and then make a short bushwhack (about two tenths of a mile) to the cache. The area has little underbrush, so the bushwhack isn't bad. But watch out for low branches and mud.

OR

There is a small pull off at the South Parking. This pull off can only handle at most two small cars. You will need to navigate over the guardrail and down a short (15 foot), rather steep bank.  To get to the cache location you must cross Roaring Run.  When scouting the location for the cache, there were several large diameter trees across the creek making for a dry crossing, unless you fell in.  However, on a subsequent trip after a heavy rain, all three logs were washed to the side and can no longer be used to cross the creek. There is another new tree across the creek, but I can not guarantee it will still be there when you are. In the dry season, you will almost be able to step across on stones.  After crossing the creek, you will have a short (about a tenth of a mile) bushwhack to GZ. There is little underbrush, so the bushwhack isn't bad. But watch out for low branches and mud.

You will find the cache hidden in the base of a large diameter tree.  Look before you reach in. Please replace the geocover as found so that the cache does not wander/float off.

This cache is located in State Game Lands, so please wear orange during hunting season.

Good luck and happy hunting.
