Russell Pond is a lovely high mountain pond cradled in the foothills of Russell Mountain. A bison tube is hidden at the start of the road leading to the pond. To reach the site, take Tripoli Road to the junction. Parking is on the shoulder on the northeast side of the junction.
Tripoli Road is closed from November through May so anyone wishing to find the cache during those months will need to walk 1.5 miles up the road from the gate (parking on shoulder) at the Woodstock end (Exit 31 off Rte. 93) to the cache location.
Best approach is from the left-hand side of the trees to avoid poison ivy.
You will need to bring a pencil to sign the log.
