Fossil Bonanza Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

onecrazycanadian: Hi,

This cache has been disabled for an extended period of time. Due to the lack of response toward the needed maintenance since our last contact, I am archiving the cache. If you do happen to complete the maintenance required and wish to activate the cache again just let me know and I will consider unarchiving it once the issue is resolved.

Thanks!

Geocache Description:

Park at the quarry Trailhead on Pebblestone Drive. If you have always wanted to find a fossil you're going to the right place. Once an active quarry this cache is surrounded by 450 Million-year-old fossil beds from the Ordovician Period.  If you hunt in the purple limestone in this area you can find Corals, Bryozoa, Porifera, Brachiopoda, Gastropoda, Cephalopoda, Crinoid Stems, and Trilobites. Most commonly found are the corals (they look like honeycombs) and Brachiopods which are clam-like shells, as well as Horn Coral, which look like conical "teeth".  For more information about the fossils in this location scan the QR code on the cache.
