My first cache in the isolated desert!
Location: The cache is located in a dry wash that harbors many types of wildlife that include kangaroo rats, desert tarantulas, jackrabbits and many species of birds. This cache is also near the unknown Little Red Rock which has many red boulders and ancient petroglyphs from the Native Americans that settled in this area thousands of years ago. If you want to travel to this area I would suggest going on Alta Drive which is closer to the cache and is not blocked off by construction on Far Hills Avenue. Follow the dirt trail until their is a wash, this location of the cache is an adventure to get to and you are guaranteed to see all sorts of wildlife in the Mojave desert as well as the whole Las Vegas City view!
Cache Container: The cache container is star wars inspired and has numerous stickers of star wars characters and famous quotes they have said. It is a green plastic box that is weather resistant and durable to critters thet try to steal the goods. Some of the stickers and the words in the front of the cache have worn off due to my water bottle that leaked in my backpack, all is good though becacuse I hid the cache under some stones. The Journey: The journey to the cache is an adventure and you can experience wildlife, the magnificent views, the red rocks, excercise, and fresh air from the stresses of life. I WOULD ADVISE to wear sunscreen during the spring and summer months because you dont want to get sunburn that I had when I hid the cache, the sun does not mess around. ALSO bring extra water and snacks so you could sustain yourself in the unforgiving desert wasteland. The terrain is not difficult on the paved trail but when you go off trail into the desert it is a little harder with loose rocks and sometimes snake. Be Careful, be Prepared, and Bring a Buddy, if you cant be as safe as possible. Farewell and Good Luck!
