Summer arrives this year at 5:13 am on June 21. That's a little early for a gathering, so let's get together to celebrate the arrival of summer in the early evening. The venue is beautiful Britannia Park, and we've reserved the old trolley station, which is now a covered picnic area (the roof will come in handy in case the weather gods don't smile upon us). We encourage all attendees to bring some dinner fixings and make use of the picnic facilities. The Baja Burger Shack in the park will be open for business, and there are also many restaurants in the Britannia area that have take-out available. A short stroll away where the bike path crosses Britannia Road, you'll find the Beachconers Microcreamery, where they make delectable ice cream, and right next door is the Britannia Coffeehouse.
The park has two large good-sized lots with free parking, and there is also free overflow parking on a number of adjacent streets. It's also served by OC Transpo Route 51, and the Ottawa River Pathway passes just a few steps away from our venue.
If you haven't cached much in the area, there are plenty around to be found, and there may even be a new one or two popping up before this event. If the weather's nice, you may want to hit the beach, and maybe even take a swim. Hope to see many of you there!
