The event is from 9:00 a.m. 11:00 a.m. on August 7th at Strawberry Acres Park. There's plenty of parking along Clarion Avenue. And, there's also an additional parking lot closer to McCord Road.
The following is from my original 2019 event; "I wanted to do a somewhat different event for Geocachers to get together and swap stories for an hour. Anyone posting a 'will attend' notification will receive a free zucchini from the family farm. It's yours to keep if you want to celebrate tomorrow's observance or not.
What's tommorow's observance? It's the "Sneak Some Zucchini Onto Your Neighbor’s Porch Day" of course! Several years ago Pennsylvanian Tom Roy started this observance because this time of year vines go crazy producing hundreds of tiny squash. They quickly grow to gargantuan size if not picked.
One way to celebrate is act like Harry Houdini and make a zucchini appear at your neighbors’ front door. Or, just take the zucchini home and prepare your favorite dish or recipe. Either way, I'm looking forward to hearing about your lastest favorite find, gadget cache, experience, or caching blunder."
The 2nd year event was just me. I sat alone in the park and reminisce about the first event, but it's not all bad. I was awarded a Community Celebration Event. So in a nutshell here's what's old and what is new. As with my first event anyone that marks a 'will attend' will receive a free zucchini from the family farm. New this year, several games and door prizes to celebrate the 20+ years of Geocaching.
Bring a chair, there's plenty of room to social distance. Also, bring a writing instrument.
