2020 has been a crazy year, but here's to being hopeful we can gather and celebrate in a few months! Whether or not this event will occur will depend on national, state and local guidelines surrounding COVID-19 at the time of the event. I will keep everyone updated as to the status of this event!
Asheville has it all, from majestic mountains and friendly folks to arts and music! ...and the food and beer of course! Join ElectricWarrior (my husband and a local brewer) and I for a brew, grilled cheese, and tales of geocaching & quarantine! No purchase is neccessary to attend!
If the weather is nice, we'll see you outside for a game of cornhole and trading trackables. If it's rainy, we'll simply move inside.
This will be on Saturday, 8/8/2020 from 3:00-5:00
*UPDATE 7/27/2020: I am still planning on this event occuring! However, with the mandatory mask law for NC in place, and since we are all most likely coming from different social groups, please be respectful of other attendees! With that in mind...
(1) Please follow the mask mandate and wear a face covering over your mouth and nose to protect other attendees. If you are having a beverage, please stay spread out from other folks if you are pulling down your mask to drink
(2) I will set up a hand sanitizer station with the sign up sheet. Please sanitize your hands before and after signing in! If you have any extra hand sanitizer, feel free to bring a bottle!
(3) If you are bringing trackables, there will be a table to display them. Please refrain from touching trackables that do not belong to you. If your trackable has a tiny tracking code, please consider writing it down on a piece of paper so others can read and log the code without having to handle the trackable. I will bring some clorox wipes in case some are handled. Before the event ends, check in with the trackable owners to see if there are some they'd be willing for you to bring to the next cache!
(4) Please maintain social distancing from others who are not in your immediate social group - some folks may be more comfortable than others, but please be respectful of all! Feel free to bring a camping chair so we can spread out while sitting.
(5) If you have any symptoms of COVID-19 or have been in contact with someone who has a confirmed case within the last 2 weeks, please do not attend to protect other attendees
Geocaching is an AMAZING community, so lets do our best to have some fun while still being mindful of our own and others' health and safety!
