Deze cache hing eerst in het buitengebied van Haaren. Aangezien we verhuisd zijn en het onderhoud daarmee te lastig was, is de cache mee verhuisd. De nieuwe locatie was nog een uitdaging aangezien dit buitengebied er zich iets minder voor leent. Of, wellicht, hebben we nog veel te ontdekken in deze regio. Hoe dan ook, er liggen niet zo veel caches hier, dus dit is sowieso een aanwinst, lijkt ons.
De cache en de puzzel blijven hetzelfde.

Na jarenlang geocaches te hebben gezocht, leek het ons leuk om er eindelijk zelf één te plaatsen. Eerst moesten we natuurlijk een locatie kiezen en we kwamen al gauw bij een mooie plek uit vlakbij ons huis. Zonder dat er een andere cache in de verste verte te bekennen was, werd het ook wel eens tijd. Het is een te mooi gebied om verstoken te zijn van cachers. Natuurlijk wilden we niet zo maar een buisje of doosje plaatsen, dus ging er ook wel wat denkwerk zitten in het ontwikkelen van een plan voor de behuizing. Als laatste wilden we het natuurlijk niet te makkelijk maken en werd er een puzzeltje verzonnen. Omdat wij erg houden van travelbugs, is er in deze cache ook ruimte om deze achter te laten (natuurlijk ) Hopelijk draagt deze cache bij aan het plezier van cachen aan anderen, net zoals anderen dat voor ons hebben gedaan!
Munthuizen
Elke munt in onze portomonnee of broekzak of kaartpotje wordt ergens ooit een keer gemaakt. Deze fabrieken noemen we munthuizen of simpelweg 'de munt'. Zo werd het eerste munthuis waarschijnlijk gevestigd in Lydië (huidig Turkije). Na vele jaren van ontwikkeling in techniek worden moderne munten op tientallen plekken in de wereld geslagen. Veel landen hebben hun eigen munthuizen. Sommige landen hebben er geen en laten hun geld bij een andere, al dan niet particuliere, munt slaan. Andere landen hebben zelfs meer munthuizen. Om te kunnen traceren waar welke munt vandaan komt, zijn er een aantal munthuizen (waaronder de Belgische, de Nederlandse en de Duitse) die een klein merkje achterlaten op hun munt: het muntteken. Naast het muntmeesterteken en het ontwerpersteken zijn dit interessante markerinkjes om een keer te bekijken. Je zult ze op verrassend veel munten tegenkomen en ze hebben allemaal hun eigen verhaal.
Terug naar de cache. Duitse munthuizen plaatsen een letter op hun munt (zie spoilerfoto) die aangeeft in welke stad ze zijn geslagen.

This cache used to hang just outside of the municipality of Haaren. Since we have moved and maintenance became a problem, we moved this cache with us. The new location proved to be another challenge since this rural area didn't supply good hiding places. Although, perhaps, we have lots to discover in this area. Anyway, there aren't many caches here in this area, which makes this cache a bonus, in our opinion.

After years of looking for geocaches, it seemed like fun to finally place one of our selves. First, we had to find a location of course. Soon we choose a nice spot in het vicinity of our house. Without any caches in remotely near this place, it was about time. This place is to nice to be deprived of cachers. Of course, we didn't just wanted to place a tube or box. So, a bit of thinking went into the development of a plan for the cache housing. The final thoughts went into the thinking of a puzzle, because we wouldn't wanted it to be too easy for you all. Because we love travelbugs, there is room in this cache to leave them (of course ) Hopefully this cach contributes to the fun of caching to others, just like others did for us!
Mint houses
Every coin in our wallets or pockets or change jars was made somewhere at some time. These factories are called mint houses or simply 'mints'. The first mint was probably located in Lydia (modern Turkey). After many years of development in technique modern coins are minted in dozen of places around the world. Many countries have their own mint(s), other countries have non and let the coinage of their currency to other (private) mints. Some countries even have several mint houses. To be able to trace where a particular coin is coming from, a number of mints (i.e. the Belgian, the Dutch and the German mints) leave a small mark on their coins: the mint mark. Next to the privy mark and the designer mark these are interesting little marks to have a better look at. You will be able to find them on a surprising number of coins and they all bear their own story. Back to the cache. German mints place a letter mark on their coins (see spoiler picture) which signifies in which town they where struck.
