Geocache Description:

When you log a find on this cache, we would love to hear the story of your geocaching name.

This cache is located at AVIS's Peggy Keck Reservation trailhead. With a parking lot right next to the cache this should be a very quick and pretty easy find (though we encourage you to hike further into the reservation and find the other caches hidden along the trails!). We are hoping that this will be a frequently visited park and grab- and we are also hoping that cachers who find this cache will humor us and share a bit of information in their logs...

There are so many geocachers out there who we feel like we know- through finding their caches and reading their logs, and some even through messaging- but we have never met. We don't know what they look like or who they really are; and I suspect it's the same for many geocachers. Often when we're reading through geocaching logs we'll comment on peoples' caching names, making guesses at their meaning or significance. The names cachers choose for themselves are so interesting!

For instance. Our dear friend (and mother) twentyfourpaws, who helped hide this cache, chose her geocaching name in honor of the six pets (five cats and one dog) she had at the time she created her account (the household number has since grown to 28 paws). But before it was her geocaching name, it was the name she chose for her pottery business! Yes, twentyfourpaws is a really good ceramics artist, and spends quite a bit of time in her basement working on the potters wheel. Perhaps you will see her at a local craft fair someday, and recognize the name from geocaching!

When you log a find on this cache, we would love to hear the story of your geocaching name. Where did it come from? What does it mean?

We'll start. We chose the name FindingNeverland44 after seeing the Broadway show Finding Neverland. My wife and I are both avid musical theater fans (we've both worked in theater as well) and this show really resonated with us. Not only does it speak of great searches and wonderful treasure, but one of the show's central themes is the importance of imagination and of staying young at heart and not forgetting how to play. We geocache because it's a game that's full of adventure; when we set out to find a cache we're headed out on a great expedition and we never know what we'll find. Geocaching takes us to wonderful new destinations around the world, and keeps alive in us that sense of adventure and of fun; we chose FindingNeverland as a reminder of why we cache. As for the 44? The name FindingNeverland was taken when we created our account; 4/4 is my birthday.

Looking forward to hearing all your stories!
