First I made the hide,
Now you make the find.
(There’s a pencil in the cache that you can use to sign!)
DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS FROM THE INTERSTATE..
Take Exit 209 (Gates of the Mountains), go east a few hundred feet, then turn left on Speery Road.
I had the good fortune to visit the “Kiwi’s Nest” (GC3J9G4) outside of Polson a while back and took the opportunity to snag a “Kiwi Egg” -- a ready-to-hide cache container. (Actually, I visited it twice--check out my log on 7/21/18 for the full story) After much nurturing, cajoling, and just a little tough love, this fledgling is now out on its own and ready for visitors.
This container begged to hung in a tree and, once I realized that, the cache name became obvious (and inevitable).
The cache is a preform, painted to match its hiding place. There isn’t much room for swag or trackables, (though I managed to tuck in a few tiny things, including a tiny rubber Kiwi & a tiny blown-glass Armadillo for the FTF). Please do not attempt to remove the attached pencil.
Your best approach to GZ is from a little further, 200 feet or so, north or south of the cache, as it is VERY steep at the nearest point on the road to GZ (there is a nearby drainage culvert).
(If you haven't quite scratched your geo-itch after this cache, there are quite a few more very good geocaches along this road.)
