Night Terrors Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Eastcobbcacher: Took an evening to check up on cache, and the area around cache has been harvested for timber since last log. Archiving for now, may try to set up another hunt early next year.

Geocache Description:

The posted coordinates are for parking.

This cache lies in one of the less-traveled parts of the Clemson Experimental Forest and is best found at night, so bring a flashlight.

According to WebMD, night terrors are "episodes of intense screaming, crying, thrashing, or fear during sleep that happen again and again."  Fortunately, the cache container should not give you night terrors, but you never know what is lurking in the woods when the sun goes down...

Park in the dirt lot next to the Corinth-Shiloh fire station or across the street from there, but please do not block the gate leading into the woods.  Follow the old road past the gate and the power substation until you pick up the tracks of what lurks deep in the woods.

Note: In April 2020, an EF3 tornado slashed through Seneca and this part of the CEF.  Come to this part of the woods in the daytime and walk some of the paths, it's quite a sight to see.  If you follow the trail of what awaits, there is no tornado debris obstructing your path.

Congrats to puppyluv68 and pictom on the FTF!!
