The Rock Pool was a regular swimming location for the early residents of Mount Beauty in the 1950s and beyond. it had its own diving board and school swimming sports were held there.
The Rock Pool is 300m upstream from Mermaid Beach another lovely picnic area and swimming hole.
The cache is a small watertight plastic container. It contains a logbook and pencil. Note the GPS wanders here (heavy tree cover) so pay particular attention to the HINT!
Access is via a walking track from the Golf Clubhouse along the Survey Track. A walk of 2.5 km. Alternatively, you can drive via Rock Pool Rd (north of the town) to a parking area and a 600m walk to the Rock Pool.
