Welcome to Larks Lake, Michigan! Northern Michigan has some of the best caching in the world! So we are giving back by offering you a "quick and easy" for-the-numbers type trail with a bonus puzzle cache at the end!
NOTE -- IMPORTANT! -- There is little to no cell service along much of this trail. Please come prepared with some other plan to check hints and coordinates, etc.
There are 30 easy caches placed along the length of Larks Lake Rd. Don't let this fool you! Road creators back in the day were funny. Thus Larks Lake Rd starts and stops several times...
For those cachers who are interested in completing the whole series, we HIGHLY recommend starting with #1 which is the northern most cache and the northern most point of Larks Lake Rd. As you search in numerical order, north to south, there is always parking available on the right (west) side of the road. Most of the caches are also on the right side of the road. If on the left, that will be noted in the hint section of the individual cache listing.
Note that the last portion of Larks Lake Rd is a dirt / gravel road but my 2WD SUV did just fine.
Finally, each cache container has a letter written on it. You will need to make note of the letter and keep track of all 30 letters if you are planning to complete the bonus final puzzle cache. Please DO NOT leapfrog the cache containers! Though some of the 30 caches will seem interchangeable, others are not, and missing a letter will make it impossible to complete the final bonus puzzle cache. Please leave each container where it belongs!
