The Mark Twain Quotation Station Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Lostboy1966: I’m archiving this one to make room for new hides, although they are apparently no longer allowed in this preserve. Thank you to everyone that took the time to find it.

"When I'm playful I use the meridians of longitude and parallels of latitude for a seine, and drag the Atlantic Ocean for whales. I scratch my head with the lightning and purr myself to sleep with the thunder."

Geocache Description:

Please read cache description; there is a special request for logging online.

Mark Twain (Samuel Clemens) lived the final years of his life in this area. The famous writer, lecturer, and humorist is one of the most quotable American authors of all time. There is no way my feeble words can demonstrate this better than those of Twain himself. But since he is no longer with us, you are being asked to help in the effort!

The cache is a relatively plain Lock&Lock with a bit of camouflage. Once found, sign the paper log as you normally would, but I ask that your online log include a quotation from any of Mark Twain’s writings or speeches. If you do not have a favorite, they are easy to find on the internet, and you will almost certainly come across one that strikes your fancy.

I'm hoping to build an enjoyable list of quotes to share with fellow visitors to this cache. Sure, you can always put down a simple 'TFTC', but if you add a quote I am sure you will feel that:

I'm glad I did it, partly because it was worth it, but mostly because I shall never have to do it again.

Cache Notes:

The container is barely off of the trail in the Stormfield Preserve, a property originally owned by Mark Twain himself. It is a short walk from parking, and should not be a difficult find (once the bounce dies down).

Please do not post spoiler pictures in your log.

Enjoy!
