Please do NOT enter the farm. You can access the cache from the fence line. At GZ you'll find a 2.5 L container. Inside it you'll find a log, a pen and a pencil, and some swag. Please remember to trade fair.
While there is some road verge space to park close to GZ please be careful and don't drive into a ditch. This is a busy road. Do yourself a favour and park in the drive way at the intersection and walk the last 35 metres.
Now, the story about the cache's name. On the morning of Wednesday 8th January 1969, a fast-running grass fire started here. Strong winds blew the fire as far away as Lara, Little River, and the You Yangs hills. Eighteen people died in the fire at Lara. Seventeen of them were motorists on the Princes Highway who left their cars in dense smoke and tried to flee on foot. At the time, it was believed safer to run away rather than stay inside a car during a fire. Nowadays motorists are advised to stay inside their cars during a fire.
