Geocache Description:

The Sauk Prairie area is known for the frequency and number of eagles that come to the region each winter. Made from salvaged metal, “Protector of the River,” showcases their importance to the area and its residents. Tourists will flock to the area every winter to catch a glimpse of the eagles amongst Sauk Prairie’s stunning landscape.

Geocaches in the Cache the History of Sauk Prairie (CHSP) Series are located along the Great Sauk State Trail. A state trail pass is required for all people age 16 or older biking, cross-country skiing, horseback riding, or in-line skating on certain trails. A state trail pass is not required for walking or hiking. Wisconsin state trail pass fees are the same for residents and non-residents. An annual pass is good for the calendar year and a daily pass is good for the day of purchase. See https://dnr.wi.gov/topic/parks/trailpass.html for more info.
