We want to continue our practice of monthly GIGs in a socially-responsible way. Come join us at a little-known park, Louis Jenn Park. Before it became a Lawrence city park, it was a recreation area provided by Jenn Air for its employees. Louis Jenn led a fascinating, innovative life.
The 'BYOF' refers to "bring your own food." Instead of holding the event at a restaurant, bring your own dinner and some lawn chairs if you have them so that we can remain socially distant. There is a shelter with a couple of picnic tables, plenty of parking, a playground, and even a pond for fishing. There are two active caches nearby; there used to be one in the woods that was a very harrowing, ultimately hilarious one for me and Bracelet Lady. Sadly, this will be my first event after her passing. She was always proud that she was in attendance at the very first "unofficial" GIG as well as the next ones and many that followed.
